Bridal Beauty

Wedding season is fast approaching, and there are a million and one things to do!  The last thing a bride needs to worry about on her big day is her hair style.  Here are a few tips to ensure your inner goddess shines all day!

Plan Ahead!-  Be sure that you and your stylist have a plan well ahead of the big day.  Schedule a consultation 4-6 weeks ahead to discuss the best style options for your hair and dress type, this is also a good time to talk about make-up looks and any color touch-ups that may need to be done prior to the wedding.  Also, be sure you are prepping your hair for success!  Ask your stylist about a good conditioning regiment to ensure your hair is silky, shiny, and manageable.  We recommend the Shaoé Decadent and Restorative Leave-In Conditioner ($24).

Eat Clean-  Your diet can have a big impact on your hair health; the better the “palette” your designer has to work with, the better the end result is going to be!   Try to supplement your diet with healthy snack and meal options.  Not only is the great for your hair, but it will also help you feel more energized to accomplish all the pre-wedding prep! There are tons of great health blogs that can help guide you in planning, pick one that you can integrate into your daily life and stick to it!

Final Run Through- Make sure to do a final run through with your stylist a week prior to the big day.  This is to make sure you haven’t had a change of heart from the consultation you had a few weeks prior.  Your stylist wants to be on the same page as you, they want to give you a fairy tale day just as much as you want it!  This is also a good time to incorporate your veil into the equation, be sure it fits with your style so you can dance the night away in true princess fashion!  Make-up is another must for the run through, this will allow you to visualize your final look.  There are a couple of options to consider.  You can opt for traditional application, or try the airbrush technique.  This process will give you a more even skin tone and will reduce shine so you are always camera-ready!  Finally, ask your salon if there is anything you need to bring the day of the wedding (i.e. your own mascara, foundation (if you prefer), etc.)

Hopefully these tips will make your big day a little easier to manage!  Please check out our bridal packages for Avant Gard the Salon and Avant Gard the School!
