PROTECTING YOUR HAIR FROM THE SPRING BREAK SUN!

After the winter that we have had, that sunny Spring Break vacation can’t come soon enough!  Everyone remembers to pack the SPF for your skin, but did you consider the suns effects on your hair color? Protect your investment with these easy tips!

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize- The sun breaks down the protein in your hair follicles, causing damage.  Combat this by keeping your hair moisturized with a diluted leave-in conditioner (we recommend Shaoé’s Rich and Restorative Leave-In Conditioner.) Mix 3 tablespoons of conditioner with 1 1/2 cups of water in a spray bottle and shake.  Use throughout the day to keep hair healthy and vibrant!

Rock a Hat or Updo-  A fashionable wide-brimmed hat adds style and provides protection for your precious tresses! This is a full-coverage option for those long lazy days at the beach!  If a hat isn’t your thing, try a messy bun or sporty french braid with a top knot.  This will help protect your ends, the oldest and most delicate part of your hair!

Stay Away from Sulfates and Parabens- Always be sure that your hair care products are sulfate and paraben free!  These ingredients can strip hair color and damage the hair follicle, accelerating the timeline of your next color service! If you haven’t already, we recommend trying the Shaoé Haircare line. Our line is sulfate and paraben free, as well as formaldehyde and formaldehyde free!

Follow these quick and easy tips to protect yourself while enjoying that much deserved Spring Break getaway!
